Website privacy notice
How information is used when you browse SolaFi or send an enquiry.

Contact and scope
SOLAFI (PTY) LTD, registration number 2022/736621/07, operates this website. The business locality is Bryanston, Johannesburg, 2060, South Africa. This is a locality-level address, not a statement of the registered office or a complete street/postal address.
This notice covers the SolaFi website and its home, estate and Investec campaign enquiry forms. Contact SolaFi at sales@solafi.co.za or +27 82 770 9853 about this notice or to direct a privacy request to the person responsible. These are the website’s published business contacts, not a separate privacy mailbox. This notice does not cover a bank’s services, a customer energy-management account or a signed installation agreement.
Information collected
Enquiry forms collect your name, email address, telephone number and province. Depending on the form, they also collect the selected package or service, electricity bill and calculated system estimates, vehicle and charging summary, or estate name, number of units, your role, monthly spend and additional information you choose to provide. Please avoid including identity documents, banking details or sensitive information in these enquiry forms. Required fields are needed to handle the requested enquiry; without them the form cannot be submitted.
Calculators run in your browser. Selected vehicle and calculation summaries can travel to the enquiry page in its URL and be included when you submit. The website adds an enquiry source and a random submission reference to manage retries. With analytics permission, it also records first and recent campaign details, permitted advertising click identifiers, referring domain, page, timestamps and a Google Analytics client identifier with the enquiry. Analytics records device/browser information, page visits, selected vehicle, calculator interactions and enquiry events. It is not anonymous tracking. Contact-field values are excluded from the site’s analytics event payloads.
Why information is used
Contact and enquiry details are used to respond to your request and discuss the service or assessment you requested. Processing necessary to take steps towards an agreement at your request may rely on that purpose; handling correspondence and protecting the service may also involve legitimate interests, subject to your rights. Relevant legal obligations can require records to be retained. Optional audience and campaign measurement relies on your analytics permission. Sending an enquiry is not permission for unrelated promotional messages. No newsletter or marketing opt-in is collected by these forms.
Hosting, forms and other providers
Netlify serves this website and receives form submissions. Submitted fields are made available through the site’s configured Netlify form workflow. The form workflow is configured to notify SolaFi staff who handle enquiries. This confirms a technical notification destination, not any onward referral or separate CRM arrangement. SolaFi uses the information to follow up on the enquiry. Hosting and asset providers receive network information such as an IP address, browser details and the requested resource as part of delivering the website.
Google Analytics 4 loads only after analytics acceptance on the production SolaFi domain. Google Fonts, Tailwind’s CDN, jsDelivr and the Iconify API (including its SimpleSVG/UniSVG fallbacks), unpkg, Supabase-hosted images, Unsplash images, YouTube thumbnails, CARTO and OpenFreeMap map resources are used on relevant pages. These resource requests are distinct from optional Google Analytics. The cookie and analytics notice describes browser storage and controls. Social, video and partner links take you to services with their own notices.
Investec and referrals
The Investec campaign calculator sends visitors to SolaFi’s existing Investec enquiry form. That form submits to this website’s Netlify receiver, not directly to a bank API. The website labels the enquiry as coming from the Investec campaign. The presence of campaign branding does not itself authorise sharing contact information with a bank or establish finance approval. Any further referral needs to be explained through the applicable enquiry process and supported by a lawful basis.
International processing and protection
Netlify, Google and the resource-delivery providers operate international infrastructure, so website requests and information handled by them may be processed outside South Africa. POPIA requires a permitted basis for cross-border transfers, for example adequate protection under applicable law or a binding agreement. The applicable supplier arrangements and safeguards must be assessed for the processing concerned; this notice is not an assurance that every supplier contract has been independently audited. The site uses HTTPS in production, limits analytics fields and lets you decline optional measurement. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Retention
Browser storage periods are listed in the cookie notice. Those periods do not determine how long a submitted enquiry remains in Netlify or in business correspondence. The retention of enquiry records depends on the time needed to deal with the request, any resulting relationship, applicable record-keeping duties and genuine dispute or legal-claim requirements, then deleted or de-identified when no lawful reason to retain them remains. Contact SolaFi for information about the records held in your case. This website does not claim a fixed business-record deletion period or an automatic deletion schedule that has not been verified.
Your choices and rights
You may ask whether SolaFi holds your personal information, request access or correction, request deletion where the legal conditions apply, or object to applicable processing. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Withdrawal does not undo earlier lawful processing or necessarily require deletion of records lawfully needed for another purpose. Use the contact details above and describe the request; identity verification may be needed to protect your information. Do not send unnecessary identity documents with an initial request. Use Cookie preferences on any page to reject optional analytics at any time.
Complaints
You can raise a concern with SolaFi or complain to the South African Information Regulator. Its official complaints page explains the current procedure and links to its eServices portal.
